The renovation of our 3-bed, 2-bath home in Merrimack, NH, is in full swing, and we’re hitting some major milestones. We are transforming this fixer upper into a dream home! Follow along with us while we create a beautiful new space.
Let’s start with the kitchen—the true heart of this home. We’ve taken it from outdated and cramped to sleek and modern. Picture this: bright white cabinetry that opens up the space, stainless steel appliances that bring a touch of sophistication, and a bold, dark island that anchors the room with just the right amount of contrast. The vision? A perfect blend of modern elegance and everyday practicality. Whether you’re cooking a family dinner or hosting friends, this kitchen will be the star of the show!
And speaking of stars, the flooring throughout the house is done! That’s right—all the flooring has been laid, and it’s even better than we imagined. We went with a durable yet stylish option that not only looks great but will stand the test of time. Walking through the house now, you can really start to see how each room flows into the next, creating a cohesive, inviting atmosphere. It’s amazing how much of a difference new flooring can make!
But that’s just the beginning. Painting has officially started, and the walls are getting a fresh coat. It’s a soft, neutral shade that adds warmth and depth, setting the perfect backdrop for the rest of our design choices. Every brushstroke is bringing this home closer to its new, refreshed identity. There’s something so satisfying about watching those blank walls transform into a space full of potential.
Now, let’s talk bathrooms—because bathroom tiling is about to begin, and we couldn’t be more pumped. We’ve selected gorgeous, durable tiles that are not only practical but also stylish. These bathrooms are going to be a perfect mix of function and beauty, making them spaces where you actually want to spend time. Think spa-like retreats that offer a moment of peace and luxury in your day-to-day life.
Every step we take in this renovation is one step closer to the finish line, and the excitement is real! We’re bringing this home into the modern era while keeping its charm intact. From the kitchen transformation to the flooring, painting, and upcoming bathroom upgrades, it’s all coming together in the most thrilling way.
Update: More Exciting Progress!
We’ve just wrapped up the painting in the main areas and girls’ room, using Shoji White, which brings a soft, warm feel to these spaces. Over in the boys’ room, we updated from the previous green to a fresh shade called Lunar Lite—it’s already making the room feel bigger and brighter! To finish things off, the trims and baseboards are now in Chantilly Lace, adding a crisp, clean touch that perfectly complements the other colors.
On the lighting front, we’ve finalized the mood board (check out the image!) and the fixtures are stunning. From elegant gold accents to sleek designs, every piece is chosen to tie together modern sophistication with timeless charm.
Additionally, we’ve just passed inspection for the lower half of the house, a huge milestone! Now that that’s done, we’ve kicked off tiling in the bathroom, and it’s looking better than we imagined.
Outside, we’re tackling the backyard cleanup, removing unwanted bushes and small trees to open up the space. The outdoor area is going to be amazing once it’s all done—perfect for summer barbecues or just relaxing with family and friends.
